Let’s give Michael Hebron’s Facebook posts about long arms (post-impact) some discussion. This look can produce amazing results for players looking to improve their ball striking. Michael posts some great photos of Lee Trevino, Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Gene Sarazen, Jim Barnes, and others in post-impact position after hitting the ball. Viewing the club post-impact is just an extension of the long arms. Look up the pictures for yourself of these great ball strikers on Michael’s Facebook posts from November 4 and 5, 2016. There is no improper use of the hands seen anywhere.

What I like about the pictures is the image they create in my mind. It’s a place to go with one’s swing. Successfully doing so allows one to get some other things right along the way, allowing a good swing to happen without other conscious thoughts.

I like to practice, and I loved this post-impact position for my own game. It’s akin to coaching a player to use a conscious finish position to achieve a desired swing shape. When appropriate, try putting your student correctly into this post-impact position. The feel of it combined with the image now in their mind should produce some positive results.
